Our Story

Cutshop® cut, edge, drill and deliver sheet material to the DIY market, cabinet makers and commercial shopfitters.

A BRIEF HISTORY

How we started

Cutshop® started in 2009 as a result of one of the current owner's frustrations with trying to get a combination of kitchen, vanity and wardrobes cut for his newly developed property. This job was either too small for a cabinetmaker or too big for a commercial hardware store.

A QUALITY CUTTING SERVICE

Expanding the nation’s workshop

We have the DIY customer happily walking away with a simple shelf cut to size, while equally, we have industry leaders responding positively to our using encrypted software compatible with theirs. Between these two bookends, customers have the satisfaction of rapid service, flat pack delivery, unparalleled precision, cost efficiencies and shop floor staff trained to understand and embrace customer service.

Whether it is to help control production times, take advantage of Cutshop's flat pack systems or Cutshop's ability to often provide a more superior product than can often be produced in-house - we help our large client base of shop fitters, designers and commercial cabinet makers to get the job done.

Cutshop® is not just servicing the above industries, but also helping DIY Kiwis build their own bespoke furniture, do home renovations and outdoor projects.

Simon - Mt Wellington Franchise

Simon Morton co-founded the business following a home renovation when he found it difficult to find cutting suppliers.  “I spotted an opportunity and established Cutshop to be a “preferred supplier” of ready to assemble cabinetry to the trade, and a “manufacturing partner” to people who have designed a product and want to bring their idea to life.”

Dave - North Shore Franchise

"North Shore people are entrepreneurial, forward thinking, creative and resourceful - they have a passion for ideas, whether it’s a commercial one or for the home,” says Dave Sutherland.  “We match this energy by providing a versatile service as a preferred supplier of ready-to-assemble cabinetry to the kitchen and shopfitting trade, as well as being a manufacturing partner for designers of bespoke products - we’re here to make ideas possible and we love it.”

Keith - Waikato Franchise

Franchisee Keith Hofer arrived at Cutshop following an early career in information technology and is now using his experience to power the production side of the manufacturing business to deliver innovative solutions.  “From the cutting of one board to the creation of a complex product it is the combination of programming and production that can help anyone with an idea, bring it to life,” he says.
