Better Home & Living Show

Recently, the team from Cutshop North Shore headed to the Better Home & Living Show in Auckland to showcase what Cutshop is all about, with the goal of engaging with DIY enthusiasts and homeowners alike.

Running over three days from Friday to Sunday, it was an awesome opportunity for the team to meet a whole bunch of new people and hear about their dream kitchen, wardrobe or garage storage solution!

A place to interact

In comparison to previous years, the general attendance at the show was lower than usual, but this didn’t affect the level of interaction - in fact, the conversations were great, and lots of people walked away feeling inspired. With the Cutshop motto being: ‘Think it. Make it’, the team endeavoured to explore and explain how Cutshop works as a manufacturer of flatpack cabinetry for just about any vision people have in their minds.

Opening up future possibilities

The physical setup was broad and engaging, demonstrating both the range of materials Cutshop can work with, and project ideas beyond simple kitchen cabinets. Overall, there was a very positive response and many great conversations throughout the days, with various follow ups and deposits put down post-show.

We achieved largely what we set out to do; which was clarifying what Cutshop does, explaining how we work with customers to bring their visions to life, and showcasing the variety of possibilities when it comes to hardware and materials.

All of the hardware on show was from long-time collaborators, Blum, with their signage on display for additional exposure and building awareness. This created more curiosity and opened up more conversations about how Cutshop functions as a company.

In the entrance to Cutshop North Shore’s HQ, there is a stunning wooden map of New Zealand hanging on the wall, which was cut with the CNC machines and has a very unique, dynamic look.

It’s often a conversation starter when new customers walk through the doors, and is the perfect demonstration of the variety in projects and level of technicality that CNC machines can achieve. Debbie of Cutshop North Shore explained how the map became a focal point of the display at the home show.

We put the map on display to bring awareness to people that we don’t only do flat pack cabinetry. It turned out to be a real talking point and drew a lot of attention.

There was a lucky draw for attendees to possibly win themselves a free map, and the winner was Andrew Court. He was stoked with his win, and was excited to put it up in his home! Debbie was proud to share his excitement and present such a dynamic and special Kiwi gift to him.

Dave from Cutshop said they’d be keen to do another show, and are happy to answer further questions from anyone who is interested in engaging with Cutshop in some way.
