When art ‘n design collide

With stunning creativity Auckland artist, Sean Beldon has approached his latest exhibit with an elegant art installation that has been twelve months in the planning. For his latest exhibit, Safe Passage, Sean wanted to include a display stand that was not only aesthetically pleasing but functional as well and knew it was something that had to be custom made.

Due to its size and weight, the structure needed to be constructed in parts in order to be assembled. Sean, who has worked with Cutshop® previously on numerous projects from bespoke furniture to display stands, knew that we were the ones for the job.

Cutshop® was able to programme the final design and provide practical solutions for easy assembly.

Those at Cutshop® are great practical thinkers, which is the difference between making something possible or not
— Sean Beldon

Using 18mm raw MDF, purposely selected so Sean could paint it himself, our team at Cutshop® Mt Wellington were able to cut the product the same day, which was exactly what Sean had envisioned. He expressed his gratitude for the team’s hard work, attention to detail and practical approach to his idea.

Both striking and complimentary this juxtaposition works wonderfully and adds a unique value within his exhibit. Why not pop down to the AllPress Studio over the next week to see it for yourself!
