Last year, Color Communications Inc Australasia (CCIA*) was approached by Fiji-based specialist paint supplier, APCO Coatings Pacific to design and manufacture a full colour system for APCO Paint in the Pacific Islands. This included making the display stand, plastic holders, colour chips and inspiration cards to go into the display stand.

Dean Viljoen from CCIA got in touch with Simon and the team at Cutshop Mt Wellington. Cutshop quickly swung into gear. Working closely with Jakaar Plastics, who designed the plastic pockets to hold the colour chips, Cutshop designed the display unit to customer specifications ensuring that all angles of the display matched the plastic pockets.

“Simon and the team were great!” said Dean.  “They built a prototype which then went through some changes. They advised on the lighting required and suggested an appropriate supplier. Once the final design was approved by the end customer 15 units were manufactured and flat packed for assembly in Fiji.”

The end result was a professional fit-for-purpose display for stores in Fiji. An additional ten units were subsequently ordered by APCO for a different paint brand later that year. Thanks to Cutshop, CCIA was able to meet all of APCO’s needs.
