What Can You Make with Cutshop®’s Custom-cut Cabinetry?
Cutshop® manufactures precision-cut cabinetry panels for any room in the house, from complete kitchen fit-outs to a single custom shelf. Because every panel is cut to the customer's exact dimensions, the result fits the space properly and looks intentional rather than approximate.
Kitchens
Integrated appliance housing, corner cabinets that use all the space, island benches sized perfectly for your kitchen, and a finish that matches your vision rather than whatever was in stock.
Laundries
A well-designed laundry with built-in cabinetry transforms one of the most-used rooms in the house. Think bench heights for folding, housing for front-loaders, and storage for cleaning supplies.
Living Rooms
A custom TV unit or wall of built-in shelving gives a living room a finished, intentional look, and a sense of intentional permanence, that freestanding furniture simply can't match.
Bathroom Vanities
Off-the-shelf vanities rarely fit perfectly, especially in older New Zealand homes. Cut-to-size panels let you build to your exact space with your choice of basin, tapware cutouts, and storage.
Wardrobes
A well-designed wardrobe makes daily life so much nicer. Create long hangers, double hangers, shoe storage, drawers, and pull-outs, all in the right proportions for your clothing and your room.
Home Offices
A purpose-built office with integrated shelving, cable management, and a properly sized desk makes a real difference to how a home functions and feels.
Garage Storage
Cutshop® cuts robust cabinetry for workshop tools, sports gear, and household overflow with durable finishes that can handle New Zealand's variable climate.
Home Storage
Cut-to-size panels let you build storage that fits your home's awkward spots exactly, turning dead space into something that actually works.
Day Beds and Custom Furniture
Cutshop® cuts panels for bespoke furniture projects including daybeds, custom storage beds, and built-in seating, using space that standard furniture can’t reach.
Not a big project? No problem.
Sometimes you just need an end panel to tidy up a kitchen, a replacement door front, or one piece cut to make something finally fit. Cutshop® has no minimum order — small jobs are just as welcome as large ones.

Why Choose Cutshop® for Custom Cabinetry?
Why Choose Cutshop® for Custom Cabinetry?
Cutshop® was founded in 2009 by Simon Morton, after he found himself unable to get kitchen, vanity, and wardrobe panels cut for his own renovation — the job was too small for a cabinet maker and too large for a commercial hardware store. That gap in the market became Cutshop®. Today, Cutshop® serves all of New Zealand and operates three hubs: North Shore and Mt Wellington in Auckland, and Hamilton in the Waikato.
Every bespoke cabinetry project at Cutshop® begins with our experienced team, many of whom have spent decades refining their craft right here in New Zealand. By drawing on this wealth of local expertise we deliver custom-cuts to suit any design brief, ensuring that each piece reflects your vision down to the smallest detail.
Custom-cut Cabinetry vs. Retail Flat-Pack
What is the Difference?
Off-the-shelf flat-pack cabinetry comes in fixed sizes, a limited range of finishes, and materials that may not be suited to wet areas common in New Zealand kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries. Custom-cut cabinetry from Cutshop® is built to the customer's exact dimensions, from the material that suits the application.
Cutshop® Custom-cut
✔ Cut to your exact dimensions, guaranteed perfect fit
✔ Full choice of plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneer, acrylic, and more
✔ Moisture-resistant options available for wet areas and outdoor use
✔ High quality hardware, supports overall durability and feel
✔ Design for your space and your life
Retail Flat-Pack
✘ Fixed sizes, resulting in gaps, awkward heights, and wasted space
✘ Limited, generic finishes that don’t match your existing cabinetry
✘ Standard materials that deteriorate quickly in humid conditions
✘ Hardware is often a weak point that affects daily use & long-term durability
✘ Make do with a product that isn’t perfect
Square metres are valuable in New Zealand homes, apartments, and commercial spaces. Panels cut to exact dimensions fill alcoves, under-stair voids, and awkward corners that standard cabinetry can’t reach, turning dead space into functional storage.
Every panel is cut perfectly, minimising
costly errors and material waste.

Frequently Asked Questions
about bespoke cabinetry in New Zealand
-
Cutshop® supplies precision-cut flat-pack panels — and assembly is available as an add-on service at all three locations. Many Cutshop® customers assemble and install the cabinetry themselves; assembly can also be arranged through Cutshop® for an extra cost, or a local builder or joiner can be engaged to assemble and install on site. If installation is required, Cutshop® can connect customers with a suitable installer.
-
If you're comfortable with basic tools and can follow a plan, assembling cut-to-size cabinetry is very manageable. Many of our customers are confident DIYers who handle the build themselves. If you'd rather have someone else do it, any local builder or joiner can assemble the panels, just share your cutting list with them so they understand what's arriving.
-
It happens, even to us. If you realise there's an error after your order has been cut, get in touch as soon as possible. We'll do our best to recut the piece and get it to you quickly, we might have an offcut from your job we can use. Give your nearest Cutshop location a call and we'll sort it out.
-
There's no minimum order size. If you need a single shelf cut to size or a handful of panels to complete a room, we're happy to help. It's just as easy to order a small number of pieces as a full kitchen's worth.
-
Because every panel is cut to the customer's exact measurements, Cutshop® is well suited to older New Zealand homes where walls are out of square, ceilings vary in height, or room dimensions do not match any off-the-shelf product. The customer provides the actual measurements; Cutshop® cuts to those measurements exactly.
-
The main things to consider are where the cabinetry is going and how much wear it needs to handle. Wet areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries call for moisture-resistant board. For visible surfaces like doors and drawer fronts, laminate or veneer gives a more refined finish. If you're not sure, give us a call, we're happy to talk through the options for your specific project.
-
Yes, you're welcome to visit your local cutshop factory to see and handle material samples in person. This is especially useful if you're choosing between finishes or trying to match existing colours in your home. You can also download our materials guide for an overview of what's available.

The quality of the finished result depends on the assembly, but the panels themselves are cut to the same standard we supply to professional builders and contractors. Using premium materials and precise cuts means the components are there for a great result, the finish comes down to care in assembly and the quality of your hardware choices.
