Full House Renovation Via Cutshop®
Project Spotlight
With it being over twenty years since his 1970s Lockwood home had received any updates, homeowner Bryan had a whole house renovation in mind when he first approached Cutshop® - starting with the kitchen. Rather than hiring a builder for the kitchen, he decided to take the DIY route and invest the money in quality materials instead.
“Nothing in the house is standard sizing, which is why working with Cutshop® has been so great”, explains Bryan. “We’re using Cutshop® for every cabinet in the house: the kid’s wardrobes, master wardrobe, the laundry, both bathrooms - and the office will be fitout with benches and cabinets.”
Ordering through Cutshop’s online portal has saved Bryan time and ensured he didn’t miss any steps in his cabinetry planning process:
“The Cutshop® platform is really easy to use. I want a drawer carcass, go on the platform, order three, can get that with or without the drawer front, choose all the specs - and it will all be done for me! It’s stuff that a DIYer wouldn't think about until you fit your first drawer - all those things are automatic to make sure you don’t mess it up.
“Being on the platform is really easy. We got these corner units and they fit perfectly, as well as a sink cupboard with cabinets underneath. If I had to build that myself it would take weeks.
“It’s just a really easy platform. It was easy to go and pick it up myself. Cutshop® was easy to deal with - and once the materials arrive, you can get into it pretty quickly.”
Putting his home renovation budget toward quality materials was a no-brainer for Bryan. For the kitchen, he ordered custom carcasses, drawer fronts, cupboards and a freestanding pantry through Cutshop® - opting for a sleek and modern combination of White Satin and Sovereign Oak melamine alongside the ultra matte APT FENIX.
For the bathroom and laundry cabinetry, he decided on Prime Panel’s Triple Duck Egg Melamine and, for the bedroom wardrobes: a beautiful Sovereign Oak melamine finish.
While the home renovation is still a year away from completion, Bryan says the kitchen is looking “great”.
“Everything is perfect. We’ve got the kitchen carcasses in. It’s a really professional product that you get back. All the cuts are to the millimetre. Everything is really sharp. No edges are missing. It’s easy.”
Next steps…
While Bryan is enjoying having a functioning kitchen again, wall tiles and wooden flooring are next on the agenda. There’s a deck to be built and Bryan has more orders in mind for Cutshop®.
“I’m just waiting to fit out the next thing, which will probably be more Sovereign Oak for the master wardrobe. I’ll need to do another three wardrobes, and I’ll get a whole lot of doors for the wardrobes. Definitely.”
