Quick Cuts Part 4 – Choosing Size Defaults
Welcome back to Quick Cuts! If this is your first time reading our blog series on Cutshop’s online ordering portal, check out Parts One, Two and Three to catch up on creating a new order and making hardware and colour selections. Here, we’ll be diving into deciding on product supply and size defaults.
The Product Supply fields include a handful of simple (but important) decisions for your order. Do you want your order to be fully assembled or delivered to you flat-packed? Would you like adjustable legs included? If you’d prefer to assemble the cabinets yourself, would you like hardware supplied along with it? The Supply Hardware option includes accessories like drawer runners and hinges – hardware that goes with your cabinets beyond just the panels. However, it’s important to note here that things like bolts, screws, and shelf studs will need to be invoiced separately.
When you click on the Product Size Defaults tab, you’ll note that the “Standard 1” default size option has been automatically applied. We find that this default option works for 90% of our standard kitchen cabinet designs.
In the Gap Size Defaults tab, you can adjust gaps and margins across all doors and drawers to suit your design, like adding a finger pull on an overhead cabinet. Our default gap size settings also tend to suit 90% of kitchen cabinet projects. If you’re a DIYer looking to get creative, we recommend chatting with one of the Cutshop team to make sure you don’t run into any surprises when applying non-standard gap sizes.
