Quick Cuts Part 2 – Making Hardware Selections
Welcome to Part 2 of Quick Cuts.
Our educational blog series helping you master Cutshop’s online ordering portal.
If you haven’t checked out Part 1, you can do so here
Once you’ve created a new job, you’ll want to get stuck into the exciting part of putting together your dream space by clicking on Add Room and opening the Hardware Selections area of the portal. This is where you can swap out different hinges and drawer systems to help you build the perfect cabinets.
Don’t be alarmed by the number of choices available! The default specs reflect our most popular options, so you could not change a thing here and end up with something that looks and functions great.
Soft-close hinges have become the go-to option on most cabinet designs due to the presence of a dampener, making them smooth and quiet. However, if cost is top of mind, we also have plenty of standard hinges to choose from.
When choosing an appropriate drawer system, the generic ball bearing selection provides a budget-friendly option. Our many available brand name selections, sorted by colour and weight capacity, offer endless flexibility. Just be careful to keep an eye on the estimated quote when toggling with drawer options, as this part of the design process can have a large impact on the overall project cost.
For the cabinet top field, we recommend that most DIYers leave this field as-is. If you’re looking to go outside the box in terms of cabinet top materials, that’s something we’d be happy to talk through with you over the phone.
